Strahorn Pines

Located at 2216 1st Avenue in Browne's Addition, Strahorn Pines was the home of Robert and Carrie Strahorn in Spokane. The Strahorns reportedly loved Spokane with Mrs. Strahorn claiming that it appealed to them as nowhere else had despite all the travels. After deciding to move back to the Pacific Northwest in 1898 Strahorn purchased the home of J.J. Browne which would from then on be known as Strahorn Pines. Strahorn hired local architects Cutter and Malmgren to remodel the home into an elegant Tudor style mansion at a cost of $100,000. In 1970 Strahorn Pines was acquired by the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture and was demolished in 1974 to expand the museum's facilities.
