Sandpoint's first school was a one room school house built in 1894.

Sandpoint’s first school (on the right) was built in 1894 and had a bell tower. This 1902 picture of First Avenue shows how few businesses were on the main downtown street. The school was fenced in and had a board sidewalk in front of it. Courtesy of the Bonner County Historical Museum.
